Walk into Sunshine Herbs today and you'll still see the same faces, the same shelves, and the same care this community has counted on for over 30 years. What's new is us, Michelle and Raymond Remo, and we wanted to introduce ourselves properly.
How we got here
We're high school sweethearts. We met in the 8th grade at fourteen, married in 2018, and we've been a team with a shared vision since we were kids. We're originally from Santa Clara, California, and in 2022, shortly after COVID, we made the move to North Texas for a better life. Our son was two at the time, and Michelle was pregnant with our daughter, who was born here in Texas.
Before this, Michelle studied journalism and for a publication before dedicating herself full-time to raising and homeschooling our children. Raymond spent the last decade working in marketing.
But the real reason we're standing behind this counter goes back to COVID.
Why supplements, and why this store
During COVID, Raymond became seriously ill for about six months. Michelle stepped in and put him on a regimen of quality supplements, a clean diet, and plenty of direct sunlight, and little by little, he got better. That experience made believers out of both of us. It's personal for us, not a sales pitch, and it's why we care so much about what goes on these shelves.
When we moved to Texas, we knew we wanted to help people. We just didn't know exactly how yet. Then, at the beginning of 2026, we found Sunshine Herbs. Family of ours who live in the area had shopped here and loved it for years, so the name wasn't new to us. But walking in was different.
It was the energy that filled the store. The quality of the people who came through the door. A genuine family business built on a simple motto: People Helping People. At its core, this place is good. This business has been established since Michelle and Raymond were babies (she's 32, he's 33), and in a world where small retail has to compete with big corporations and endless online options, a store like this survives on something they can't manufacture: legacy, reputation, and people who come back because the owners are family and the business is an extension of that family. This store cares more, and so do we.
What we believe
We want you to know that we actually care. We're not just trying to make a sale. Whether you're talking to us or to our staff, we want you to feel comfortable, like you're talking to family.
The truth is, this was already a tight-knit community and a well-established store long before we arrived. The store is simply a reflection of the goodness that's already in Saginaw. We want people to walk in and see family. To see community.
That comes with a couple of promises. We won't sell low-quality products to our community, and we will never use high-pressure sales tactics. That's not who we are.
What's staying, and what's new
If you've shopped here for ten, twenty, or thirty years, nothing you love is going anywhere. Same products. Same care.
What we hope to add is reach. By building out this website and an online store, we want to extend that same level of care beyond Saginaw and beyond these county lines, to anyone who could use it. But make no mistake: the brick-and-mortar store will always belong to this community.
Come say hi
We're loving, caring, friendly people, and we don't pretend to know it all. We're taking on this business with great humility, and we invite the blessing of God to guide us through this journey.
So please, call us, visit us, or just stop in to say hi. We'd love to meet you.
