Pure Drinking Water H2O + O2
The Steps in our Purification Process:
- 5 Micron Filter. Two pre-filters
are used in the first stage to get the water ready for processing. The first filter
is a 5 micron filter. This removes particles larger than 5 microns. This preps
the water and extends the life of the second filter (see step 4). This filter
is changed based on the gauge readings on the front of the system.
- Granular Activated Carbon (GAC).
A bacteriostatic GAC bed filter removes organics, pesticides, chlorine, chloroform,
toxic chemicals, trihalomethanes (THM) and trichloroethylenes (TCE) and unpleasant
taste and odors. It is a mix bed of Carbons that regenerates itself automatically
based on water usage and the condition of the water. Our special GAC unit setup
also removes MTBE’s (this is a contaminant that gets in the ground water from
gasoline).
- Ion-Exchanger. Softener. Removes
hard inorganics such as iron, calcium carbonate, magnesium. By removing these
now, it helps protect and extend the life of the Reverse Osmosis Membranes. This
machine also back washes suspended material and micro-organisms. The ion-exchanger
is electronically monitored to detect hardness of the water and gallon usage to
insure top benefits every time. It is set on a timer and regenerates itself at
night.
- 1 Micron Filter. The next step
is the 1 micron filter. It is also preparing the water for purification processing.
This filter is a multi-stage filter that removes particles larger than the microscopic
size of 1 micron. This is so small that you can not see it with the naked eye.
This filter is changed based on the gauge readings on the front of the system.
- Three Reverse Osmosis Membranes.
This is the heart of the system. Here water pressure is raised to 200 lbs. per
square inch and pushed through a semi-permeable membrane which pushes water molecules
through pores so small that their size is 500,000 times smaller than the "." (dot)
in the letter "i", while contaminates such as dissolved minerals, metals, salts
and other residues are washed down the drain. There are 3 reverse osmosis membranes
connected to this unit and they are capable of producing 2,000 gallons in 24 hours.
These membranes are setup in a special way to get maximum usage of the water so
less is being wasted down the drain. These membranes carry an average of 95% to
99% total rejection, depending on the condition of the water coming in. To carry
the label "Pure water" by law, the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) must be below
10 Parts Per Million (PPM).
Special note: The minerals (measured by TDS) in water are inorganic minerals,
meaning it is hard for you body to get them. We suggest a good diet with foods
rich in organic minerals -- which is hard to do unless the food is grown in mineral
rich soil. You can also supplement your minerals with colloidal minerals or chelated
trace minerals, both carrying a full spectrum of minerals. Both type of minerals
can be found at our store (Sunshine Herbs).
- Maintaining our RO Membranes.
We mention this step to show you the extra steps we do for quality water. We do
this by shutting down the raw water source and sending the pure water back through
the RO membranes. We do this at difference pressures to meet all cleaning needs
of the RO membranes. Special steps must be taken here to keep the membranes safe,
thus allowing them to be cleaned safely. The end result is top quality oxygenated
water every time.
- Magnets. Located throughout
the system, these powerful magnets help recharge water and neutralize acid water.
Our water’s pH has an averaging pH of 6.8, even with a TDS average of 3 PPM.
- Ozone. As water is made, we
use ozone to destroy and keep impurities out of the water. The radical "O1" in
"O3" is very unstable. It seeks to remove any remaining contaminates and burns
them up. The ozone then returns to "O2" (oxygen), thus making H2O + O2. The overall
result is sparkling clean, great tasting, bacteria-free healthy oxygenated water.
Ozone is the best known way of getting rid of any contaminates. Ozone acts aggressively
3,000 times faster than chlorine in trying to remove a contaminate. Example: *Contact
time for Chlorine to get rid of Giardia cysts (parasite) is 137 minutes. Contact
time for ozone is only 1.43 minute (*Safe Drinking Water Act). Ozone is nature’s
way of disinfecting and cleaning. Ozone is naturally produced by bolts of lighting
during a thunderstorm. Because ozone naturally disinfects and cleans, no harsh
chemical are used or residues are left behind in your bottle.
- Carbon Block. Using the latest
technology, we use a carbon block at the end stage to double insure all chemicals
are removed. The carbon block is similar to the GAC and we are able to keep the
TDS levels at their lowest.
- UV Sterlight. The Sterlight
acts as a redundant system to sterilize the water with ultraviolet light just
as nature does in cloud tops. This is done just before the water is put into your
bottle. The Ultraviolet light’s disinfecting process has the ability to kill the
Bacteria, Viruses, Typhoid Fever, Coliform, Dysentery, Cholera, Infectious Jaundice,
Hepatitis and Influenza Virus, E-coli, Enteric Fever and many other unwanted microorganisms.
- Recirculation. Our system is
setup on a recirculation loop to insure fresh water is being delivered at all
times. The recirculation loop sends the pure water back through the carbon block
and re-injects ozone into the water. This keeps the water fresh and highly oxygenated
at all times.
- Getting Your Water. A powered
motor repressurizers the water, and delivers it to you at a rate up to 20 gallons
per minute. As water is being delivered, ozone is being injected into your bottle.
This is done for two reasons. One is to disinfect your bottle and the other to
highly oxygenate the water. We recommend letting the water sit for 15 minutes
before you drink it so the ozone will dissipate from O3 to O2.
- Storing Your Water. We recommend
putting our pure water in Polycarbonate (PC #7) or higher, else you may taste
the plastic (as in HDPE #2). With our purification process you can store the water
long periods in PC or higher, just keep it out of direct sunlight. We also carry
a full range of Polycarbonate bottles, from ½ gallons to 5 gallons.
